Veterans often feel like something is missing when they take off their uniforms and step away from military life. Out on the water with fellow veterans in kayaks, Truck Carlson watches something magical happen. He asks us to consider how giving veterans outlets for service can fill a void in veterans’ lives and enrich our communities.

Truck Carlson is a retired military veteran with 30+ years of service who has lived all over the world and now calls the South home. He works for the Savannah Riverkeeper, leading the Veterans for Clean Water program.
