Dedicated to inspiring future generations, she founded Education. Community. Oysters. (ECO), a nonprofit organization that connects aquaculture with K-12 education through partnerships with local schools, including Tybee Island Maritime Academy and St. Andrew’s School, and leads teacher training workshops for the Georgia Aquarium staff, the Georgia Association of Marine Education and the Georgia Science Teacher Association.

Laura promotes real-world learning and strategic growth as the Director of Growth and Planning at Tybee Island Maritime Academy and serves on the board of St. Andrew’s School.

Helping companies align culture, vision and objectives with performance management, she is a certified senior professional in Human Resources with a specialty credential in Inclusive Workplace Cultures. Raised in Toronto, Canada, she has called Savannah home since 2001, where she and her husband are parents to three teenagers and two rescue dogs. Mike Kentz is an award-winning educator at Benedictine Military School with more than 15 years of experience in journalism and teaching. He currently leads an AI Exploration Program with select upperclassmen and hopes to develop a Self-Directed Learning Program for high school students leveraging AI technology. He is a graduate of Georgetown University, the Relay Graduate School of Education and Wilkes University and is a lacrosse coach as well as an avid basketball, tennis and pickleball player.

Originally from Mexico, Isai moved to Savannah to continue his work on educating the next generation as part of Junior Achievement (JA). In his role as the director of the JA Discovery Center Experience, he oversees a state-of-the-art facility that offers middle school students in Coastal Georgia the opportunity to experience their futures via JA Finance Park and JA BizTown. He earned a degree in economics from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Karla-Sue Marriott holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and serves as Professor and Interim Chair of the Chemistry and Forensic Science Department at Savannah State University. She is also a self-taught freehand nature-inspired painter. As a chemist, she collaborated on NASA research that launched Space-X 3 and Falcon 9 Rocket’s Dragon Capsule and was awarded a chemical patent in 2017. As an artist, she exhibited “Dancing with Nature: Being Human” in 2015 at SSU’s Fine Arts Gallery.
